The University will be migrating from its current antivirus software, Sophos to the newly adopted software, Cylance over the next couple of months. University devices will automatically be updated to the new antivirus software.
What to expect
- Icons and notifications for the new Cylance antivirus software will look different following the migration.
- The University of Rochester community will be notified once the migration is completed. By this time, if the Sophos icon continues to appear on your University computer, please contact the Help Desk for support.
- University devices that are not managed will require the removal of Sophos with the installation of Cylance by someone in your department.
What you should do (personal devices only)
- Check to see what antivirus software is currently installed on the device.
