Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) allows you to sync email, contacts, calendar, tasks, and notes from an Exchange email server to your Android device.

Step 1

Backup your device.

Step 2

If you accessed University email on your device before migrating to Office 365, you must first delete the old University email account. If you have not accessed University email on your device before, skip to Step 7 below.

Tap on the App Drawer, then go to Settings.

Tap on Corporate.

Tap on Account Settings.

Tap and hold your University account.

Tap on Remove account.

Tap on Remove account again.

Tap on the App Drawer, then go to Settings.

Select + Add Account.

Select Email.

Configure your account setup by entering the following information:

Primary Email Address Here Your primary email address (e.g., first.last@rochester.edu, username@xx.rochester.edu)
Blank field below Primary Email Address Here Your password associated with your user name

Once you’ve entered your information, tap Manual Setup.

Tap on Exchange.

Enter the following information:

DomainUsername Your username@ur.rochester.edu email address
Password Your password associated with your user name
Server outlook.office365.com

Verify Use secure connection (SSL) is checked, then tap Next.

Step 13

You will be prompted to allow remote security administration. Tap OK to complete setup.

Configure your preferred sync options, then tap Next.

Tap Activate to acknowledge that the Mobile Computing Device Standards are being applied to your device.

Open the Mail application. You will be prompted to allow the University’s mobile security settings. Tap OK, and your email will now sync to your device.
