Enterprise architecture describes the principles and standards by which the organization will utilize information technology to achieve its business objectives. The architecture team sets policies and guidelines based on industry best practices and then provides governance through collaboration with the various stakeholders to develop systems that are highly available, scalable, fault tolerant, and secure.
The domains of focus include:
Business: Understanding the goals and objectives of partners and stakeholders in order to develop IT systems that achieve the intended outcomes
Information: Contextualized data and metadata that is created, stored, and/or consumed
Applications: The manner in which applications are deployed to provide the appropriate function in the most efficient and effective means possible
Technology: The physical and logical technology components and their related configurations that provide the necessary service or compute environment
