Unexpected 2FA prompts? Stop and deny
Two-factor authentication (2FA) protects your account — but only when approvals are intentional. If you receive a 2FA request you weren’t expecting, do not approve it. Attackers may send repeated prompts hoping you tap “approve” out of habit or frustration.
Only approve requests you personally initiated. If unexpected prompts continue, change your password and contact University IT or the ISD help desk.
If you didn’t start it, don’t approve it.
