Public Printing Upgraded

Public printing on River Campus was upgraded over the summer to modernize its infrastructure and transition to a consistent system, Pharos, to support both public and departmental printing. Multifunction devices on River Campus, at the Medical Center, and at College Town were upgraded to Pharos earlier this year.

Wireless Printing

If you used wireless printing prior to July 2015, you will need to remove the old print drivers and install the new drivers before you will be able to print wirelessly to the new system. Once you have updated, wireless printing will function exactly as it has previously. Tutorials and driver downloads are available on the printing website.

Printing from Computer Labs or Kiosks

If you are printing from a public computer in any of the computer labs or at kiosks around campus, there will not be any changes to how you print. University IT has already updated the print drivers and software on these computers and print release stations.

Paying for Prints

The new printing system will only accept payment from Flex accounts, Departmental Copy Cards, or Visitor Cards. If you had a Pharos account, your balance was transferred to the new system. You are no longer able to add funds to your Pharos account. You can add money to your Flex account by check, cash, or credit card at the Customer Service Center in Susan B. Anthony Hall or at any of the Value Transfer Stations located around campus. Visitor Cards are available for purchase at the Rush Rhees Library Reference Desk (now called “Q & I”) or at any Value Transfer Station.
