The Information Systems Division (ISD) oversees the strategic execution and support of all technology needs of URMC’s vast clinical enterprises. More than 300 staff work in 12 divisions, and collectively manage everything from computers at workstations to the secure network that keeps information safe and secure to the massive servers that handle the enormous clinical and administrative data used by 17,800+ URMC faculty and staff members. ISD is primarily based out of Corporate Woods.


Eastman School of Music

The Technology and Media Production Department‘s (T & MP) mission is to meet the needs of the Eastman School community in providing exceptional technical skill and professional quality service, in the following areas: audio recording, computing services, and classroom technology.

River Campus Libraries

Visit www.library.rochester.edu/services to learn about the many services supported by the technology staff in Rush Rhees Library.  Services include online and in-person support for accessing library resources, research services, information on events and available library spaces for study and collaboration as well as instructional services that support teaching faculty and their courses.  Patrons are provided support with off-campus access (VPN), wireless access in the library, printing, copying and scanning services; there are public computing resources and software available in many locations.


School of Medicine & Dentistry (URMC)

The Educational IT (EdIT) team at SMD provides comprehensive support for educational software, technologies, and classroom spaces across URMC. This team is composed of four specialized groups: Audio Video Installation Services, which handles the design and support of AV installations; Miner Library IT, responsible for implementing and maintaining educational technologies, providing student IT support and email, and ensuring 24/7 access to the medical library’s digital resources; the IDEA Team, staffed by Instructional Designers who assist with innovative educational strategies; and the Educational Software team, focused on developing and maintaining the Medical Student Information System (MedSIS) and various SMD web content.


School of Nursing

Information Technology Services strives to provide excellent IT customer support that enhances and supports the mission of the University of Rochester School of Nursing. The ITS team provides backup services, hardware, software, and project support for faculty, staff, and students.


Simon Business School

Simon Technology Services (STS) provides support to meet the needs of the Simon Business School community, seven days a week, throughout the academic year. They provide guidance on how to configure student laptops, available security and antivirus software as well as classroom technology support.


Margaret Warner Graduate School of Education and Human Development

Warner School Educational Technology Support Services provides comprehensive technology support, instructional technology services, data management, and strategic technology leadership for faculty, staff, and students at the Warner School of Education. Services.  This includes desktop and laptop support, software and hardware assistance, classroom and event technology, printing and scanning services, cybersecurity and security awareness education, network and wireless access support, account management support, technology purchasing and licensing coordination, project management, and technology consultation.

The team administers and supports the school’s educational technology ecosystem, including Blackboard, instructional technologies, classroom teaching tools, and instructional design services that enhance teaching, learning, and student engagement. The team also manages the collection, distribution, analysis, and reporting of course evaluations and collaborates with academic and administrative units to support assessment, accreditation, institutional reporting, and data-informed decision making.

In addition, they develop, support, and maintain critical internal business systems, including the Warner School Intranet and program planning software and reporting.  To support the advising application, they also manage student, advising, course, and registration data to ensure accuracy and ensure students are registered. The team partners closely with faculty and staff to improve business processes, implement innovative solutions, support research and administrative operations, and provide responsive classroom instructional support. They also provide training and support for using the University of Rochester-provided administrative systems and software, such as AI tools.
