Paying for Printing

Flex Cards
Undergraduate students or graduate students and employees with Flex accounts can swipe their ID cards at Print Release Stations and have deductions made from their Flex accounts for each page printed, and can check the balance in the account each time the card is swiped.

To add money to your Flex account:

  1. Go to the Customer Service Center (check, cash, or credit card)

Susan B. Anthony Hall Room 114A
(585) 275-3975
Monday – Friday, 10:00am – 7:00pm
Saturday, 10:00am – 2:00pm
(Hours differ during summer and breaks)

Departmental Copy Cards
Departmental Copy Cards provide University departments with discounted copying and printing. Rates will be as determined by agreement with University IT. When a job is released, pricing will be adjusted to reflect the current discounted rate.

To get a new departmental copy card or make a change to an existing card, contact the IT Help Desk at 275-2000 or submit a request online.

Visitor Cards
Anyone can purchase a prepaid $5 University Visitor Card to print or make copies. These can be purchased at the following locations:

  • Rush Rhees Library (credit card only)
  • Carlson Library located in the Computer Studies building (credit card only)
  • Sibley Music Library in the Miller Center (cash only)
Pharos Accounts
For students who previously had Pharos accounts, their balances have carried over to the updated printing system. Some students may also have department-funded Pharos Account balances; these balances will appear as a separate line item while logged into the Print Release Station. These balances can only be spent in the public Pay-for-Print system and will not appear on other Flex vending points.

If you recently got a new ID and do not see your expected Pharos Account balance, call or visit the Help Desk in the IT Center, or submit a ticket including the LCC code on your new ID.
