Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) allows you to sync email, contacts, calendar, tasks and notes from your Office 365 account to your Apple device.

Step 1

Backup your device.

Step 2

If you accessed University email on your device before migrating to Office 365, you must first delete the old University email account. If you have not accessed University email on your device before, skip to Step 7 below.

On the home screen of your iOS device, tap the Settings icon.

Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Select your University account.

Select Delete Account.

Confirm that you want to Delete Account.

On the home screen, tap the Settings icon.

Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Select Add Account.

Select the Microsoft Exchange option.

  • Enter your primary email address (i.e. first.last@rochester.edu, username@xx.rochester.edu)
  • Enter your password associated with your username
  • Enter UR in the description field
  • Tap Next

The server name may automatically be populated, if not, you may be prompted with additional fields to enter.

  • Server: outlook.office365.com
  • Domain: (leave blank)
  • Username: username@ur.rochester.edu

Tap Done.

Set which features (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders) you want synced to your device. Then tap Save.
