Finding the computer name in Windows 8

Note: If you use Windows, you can hold down the Windows key and the Pause/Break key on your keyboard to quickly view your computer name, regardless of your device's operating system.

Step 1

Navigate to PC Infoto find your computer name.

Step 2 (Option A - Use the Search Charm)

  1. Move cursor to the right-hand corner of the screen to unhide charms bar (or press Windows key+ C).
  2. Click Search.
  3. Type computer name.
  4. Click PC info.

Step 2 (Option B - Use the Settings Charm)

  1. Move cursor to the right-hand corner of the screen to unhide charms bar (or press Windows key+ C).
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click PC infounder Settings, or click Change PC settings, at the bottom right of the Settings charm menu.

Step 3

Find your computer name under Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings.
