1) Update Your Workstation(s)
One of the supported desktop email clients listed below needs to be running on your workstation with the latest updates.
Windows
- Outlook 2016
- Outlook 2013
- Outlook 2010
- Outlook 2007
- Outlook 2007 Software Update
- Changes in Outlook 2007Upgrade to Outlook 2010 or higher for feature compatibility.
- Outlook 2016
- Outlook for Mac 2011
- Apple Mail
- Thunderbird IMAP
2) Update Your Web Browser(s)
One of the supported web browsers for Outlook Web App needs to be running on your workstation.
3) Clean Up Your Mailbox
To shorten the migration time, clean up your current mailbox, including sent and trash folders. Trash will migrate into deleted items. Email messages with attachments larger than 50MB will not migrate.
4) Eliminate Any High Risk Information
Run Identity Finder to ensure that no Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is found.
Since Office 365 is a cloud service, information in these email accounts reside outside of University facilities. If you must send email with high risk information, you are required to use SecureMail (Voltage) to keep the information more secure. (See the University’s email policy for more information.)
