Skype for Business uses the Lync 2011 for Mac client but you must be at version 14.0.11 or later in order to sign into the University's Skype for Business service. Follow these steps to verify your version and upgrade if necessary.
Step 1
Go to Applications Folder.
Step 2
Ctrl+Click on Microsoft Lync, then click on Get Info.
Step 3
If you are on version 14.0.11 or later, you can sign in to Skype for Business.
If you are not on version 14.0.11 or later, you will need to upgrade:
- Start Lync 2011 for Mac
- Click Help
- Click Check for Updates
- Apply latest patch option
