Discussion boards are useful tool facilitate learning, asynchronous communications in both face-to-face and online or hybrid courses. A discussion board might be used to begin a conversation amongst students prior to a class meeting, or continue a conversation following a class meeting. Discussion boards can also be used as assessment tools by turning on grading.
