Beginning March 1st, UR accounts will be required to use Duo two-factor authentication to access Microsoft 365 products such as email, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online when not connected to the University Network. This change will enhance the security of our accounts, applications, and services. This change will not impact URMC or affiliates.
Please review the items below to ensure this change does not impact your ability to work remotely.
- Enroll in Duo for your Active Directory account (Duo for University AD) if you have not already. Follow this link to enroll: https://tech.rochester.edu/enroll-in-duo/
- Check the requirements on this page to make sure the software you use to access email is compatible: https://tech.rochester.edu/tutorials/configuring-email-with-duo/
Once this change takes place, you will receive a Duo prompt once every 30 days if you access Microsoft applications remotely.
