Interference from mobile devices can occasionally cause pagers to experience failed delivery of pages. Some best practice strategies to minimize the impact of interference on page delivery:

  • If possible, wear cellular devices (smartphones, tablets, and voice/text calling devices) and pagers on opposite sides of the body. This provides the greatest degree of separation and highly unlikely RF interactivity between devices.
  • If devices must be worn on the same side of the body, then the “four finger” rule is suggested. Wear the devices approximately three inches (about the width of four fingers) apart: pager-fingers
This technique is recommended for any combination of pagers or cellular devices (smartphones, tablets, and voice/text calling devices) to minimize the amount of interference between devices.
