GraphPad Prism

GraphPad Prism combines scientific graphing, comprehensive curve fitting (nonlinear regression), understandable statistics, and data organization. While it won’t replace a heavy-duty statistics program, Prism lets you easily perform basic statistical tests commonly used by laboratory and clinical researchers. Prism offers t tests, nonparametric comparisons, one-, two- and three-way ANOVA, analysis of contingency tables, and survival analysis. Analysis choices are presented in clear language that avoids unnecessary statistical jargon.

SAS

The SAS System is an integrated suite of software for enterprise-wide information delivery. Applications include executive information systems; data entry, retrieval, and management; report writing and graphics; statistical and mathematical analysis; business planning, forecasting, and decision support; operations research and project management; statistical quality improvement; computer performance evaluation; and applications development.

SAS is available to enrolled students, instructional faculty and researchers engaged in original academic research work on both university and personally-owned computers (home use) are allowed to use the license.

Institutional research and other administrative uses related to the operation or improvement of a university or at an associated healthcare institution including patient care and sponsored research are not included within the scope of the license.

MATLAB is an integrated technical computing environment that combines numeric computation, advanced graphics and visualization, and a high-level programming language. MATLAB is used in a variety of application areas including signal and image processing, control system design, finance, engineering, and medical research.

Amira Software

Amira Software is a powerful, comprehensive, and versatile 2D–5D solution for visualizing, analyzing and understanding life science and biomedical research data from many image modalities, including Optical and Electron Microscopy, CT, MRI and other imaging techniques. With incredible speed and flexibility, Amira Software supports advanced 2D–5D bioimaging workflows in research areas ranging from structural and cellular biology to tissue imaging, neuroscience, preclinical imaging and bioengineering. From any 3D image data, including time series and multi-channel, Amira Software delivers a comprehensive range of data visualization, processing and analysis capabilities. ChemDraw

This chemical drawing program features chemical warnings, graphical file formats, structure perspective tool, floating periodic table and character map, LabArt, multi-page docs, stereochemistry, atom numbering, structure and style templates, a large choice of bonds and arrows, full color drawing, MS Office integration, improved graphic display and image, customizable arrow tools, color-faded shapes, and terminal carbon labeling.

IMSL, PV-Wave

The IMSL Fortran, C/C++ and C# Numerical Libraries provide pre-written mathematical and statistical algorithms that can be imbedded into Fortran, C/C++, C# for .NET, and Java applications. JMSL for Java applications combines integrated charting with IMSL Library algorithms. PV-WAVE is an array-oriented programming language used to build and deploy visual data analysis applications. TS-WAVE is for advanced time series analysis, and JWAVE’s multiple graphical and visualization techniques allows for web-based visual data analysis across platforms.

LabVIEW

LabVIEW is used for test, measurement, and control. LabVIEW allows development of intuitive block diagrams for I/O, analysis, and presentation needs. LabVIEW performs many functions from data acquisition to advanced embedded software development. The University’s LabVIEW license may be used for both teaching and academic research.

ArcGIS

ArcGIS is a powerful desktop and server tool for mapping and analysis through the application of geographic knowledge. ArcGIS can perform spatial analysis while combining independent tabular data layers with maps, imagery and 3D geographic features. ArcGIS will be available on the CIRC platform for intensive research applications. ArcGIS also comes with web apps and device apps to share your work with others in across the University. These apps run on smartphones, tablets, web browsers, and desktops, and support a range of tasks and workflows. Under this license, all standard Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) modules are included.

EndNote

EndNote organizes references, images, PDFs, and other files in your personal EndNote database. It also imports citations from online databases that you have searched and creates and formats bibliographies automatically.

MS Azure Dev Tools for Teaching

Azure Dev Tools for Teaching is a Microsoft program that supports technical education by providing access to Microsoft software for learning, teaching and research purposes. University of Rochester students and faculty can download some Microsoft tools and applications through the website at no cost, including Visual Studio Professional, Windows servers, and SQL servers.

LinkedIn Learning is an online learning company that helps anyone learn software, creative, and business skills to achieve their personal and professional goals.

Qualtrics

The Qualtrics XM is a user-friendly, feature rich, web-based survey tool similar to Survey Monkey, which allows users to build, distribute, and analyze online surveys, collaborate in real-time, and export data in multiple formats. Qualtrics Research Suite should only be used for work related to your University of Rochester employment and/or academic projects related to your UR Research or pursuit of a degree.
